  1. Tales of Suspense #66: Jon saying “It’s not Attuma!” Cracks me up every time.
Considering the change in headliners coming soon in Tales to Astonish, I’m starting to wonder if the bullpen wanted to build some buzz around an antagonist for Namor. Or if they just wanted a “not Namor” villain for undersea stories. Hmm.

Red Skull’s origin. I’m really grateful that you guys know so much about Golden Age Cap stories to give some context here. It’s been fun and saves me the work of reading for myself, since I’m barely keeping up with the issues covered by this show as-is! SO VERY COMICS!

But now Cap’s a Nazi! They’ve changed him forever! This sort can’t possibly get undone and forgotten about. Nope, no way, no how! (waits one month) Oh, never mind.

FF #39 + DD. Ben not spending one moment being happy to be human, what the freak! Not a bit of “You all can keep being superheroes if ya wanna! I’m gonna go party and smooch Alicia and be awesome!”

Dang, DD just in time to fight DD. That’s a lot of D’s.

Spider-Man #25. This issue was glorious. I’ve read the story before, and it’s just as great as ever. The Benny Hill chase scene. Betty and Liz meeting Mary Jane. Peter getting hoisted by his own petard. And the Jonah robot.

Just to be clear: Steve Ditko envisioned a telepresence robot 45 years before they became a reality. Holy crap! Now I’m terrified to ever see a telepresence robot in action! I’ll be expecting Jonah’s face to appear and hear “Get back to work or I’ll sic my coils on you!” AUGH!!

Until next time, or until Tele-Jonah faces off against the She-Hulk (the who?), make mine Make Ours Marvel!
