Sgt. Fury King Size #2: Wait, it’s pronounced “Dee Day”? Not “De Day”? As in, “Dis is de day, ya mugs!” Gosh, that’s puts a different spin on things! (Yes, I’m kidding.)
Tales of Suspense #81: Tony goes to Washington. If I’m math-ing right, Iron Man can fly around the speed of sound. That’s pretty freaking fast for two little boots! I gotta get me some transistors.
And Tony is still such a great friend. “Thank goodness Happy still has that irreversible brain damage so he can’t reveal my secret identity. Well, better go to DC and let the guv’ment in on it!” BAD TONY!
Cap vs Red Skull with Cosmic Cube. Skull is really not good at the omnipotent thing. “I’ll exile you to another dimension! Very slowly! And let you continue to talk to me! No wait, I’ll let one of the greatest fighters in the world stand really close to me while I hold my ultimate weapon! I’m here just holding it. What could possibly go wrong?”
Strange Tales #148: SHIELD vs AIM or THEM. I really like Fury and Sitwell faking out Count Royale (wow, that name’s not on the nose, is it), and the issue starting with the LMD switcheroo. That’s what LMD’s *should* be used for.
Ok, I’m totally confused about THEM not being AIM. Why da ya keep asking about that? Who da ya supposed THEM is? (My only guess is not-very-cleverly hidden in the previous questions.
Dr Strange and the Ancient One’s college roommate, I mean, Kaluu. More like Ka-who, amirite? (Apologies if I said that before. Wait, no I don’t, it’s my bit!)
The Avengers #31: The Keeper of the Flame. I’m sorry, I can’t muster much enthusiasm for this story. The only thing I liked was the “sad trombone” moment at the end with “I know who can help you, Goliath. Henry Pym!” It’s a funny-not-funny bit, cementing that no easy solution for Hank’s problem is coming.
Until next time, or until the Red Skull uses the Cosmic Cube to make a bird into a hero, make mine Make Ours Marvel!
