  1. Dang, Purple Man was horrible from the very beginning! The seeds for what he’d become later were sown all along. Pretty wild in hindsight. The first time I’d seen him was much later, wearing a real costume, not simply purple clothes, so I accepted him more as a typical supervillain. But from this appearance, he’s much more insidious than that. Whew!

Thor vs Magneto. More proof that Marvel did all of the coolest matchups early! Showing that Magneto has just a one-note train of thought, “you must be a mutant, join me”. He just did this with Namor. Does he remember how that turned out? Course not! But I gotta give credit that Mags could go toe-to-toe with Thor before his later power-boosts. And it’s hilarious that the X-Men are *in* the issue but don’t *appear* in the issue. Is that a favor to the collectors, or a slight? What do you guys think?

Until the Purple Man breaks the fourth wall, make mine Make Ours Marvel!
