Oh boy! Getting into the Endgame! Another enjoyable show, guys. My own little thoughts.
The Hawkeye/Black Widow dilemma. I really, REALLY hated Natasha dying. REALLY! But from a story point of view, I had to agree with it. Clint as sacrifice was motivated by despair and fear. Despair over losing his family, and fear that if the plan didn’t work, he’d still be without them. Natasha as sacrifice was motivated by the hope that the plan would succeed, and knowing that Clint’s family would be heartbroken that he was gone, and they’d need him in this changed world. Even though losing Natasha might have seemed like the opposite, this gave the whole team hope, which they needed to win.
And I sympathize, Michael. I call “Black Widow” “Scarlet Witch” all the time, and the reason is simple. The actress for Black Widow IS named “Scarlet”. Marketing fail I’d say. Not questioning the casting though. Love ScarJo as Natasha, and HATED seeing her die. Did I mention that yet?
