  1. I agree, all of the issues this month were pretty great! Now I can dive in and tease them.

The X-Men #17: Fantastic final reveal splash page of Magneto! Finally, they’re getting it! Loved it!
Then I had to think of something silly. Magneto shoots the X-Men into space, and goes back into the mansion? Was that the point? Magneto: “House hunting is such a drag. I’ll just stay here. Wonder if there’s any Yoo-hoo in the fridge. What, the doorbell? Aw man, I just took off my boots and gloves!”
    It’s obvious why Iceman is sick. He’s got a cold. … He’s got … a cold … ok, next issue…

Daredevil #13: I’ve usually heard this metal-dissolving version of Vibranium called “Antarctic Vibranium”. This makes more sense when they establish Ka-Zar firmly in the Savage Land, which hasn’t happened yet as far as I can tel.
So a world-wide spy network can activate in a heartbeat. HYDRA can too. And Baron Mordo’s army of demons that pursued Dr Strange. Is everyone a member of a world-wide secret network in the 60s?!

Journey into Mystery #125: Hercules being Hercules was amazing! They nailed the himbo party boy personality already. So cool! Too bad we won’t get to see Herc and Thor fight since this is the last issue. Bummer.
    “Kirby Troll Bongs!” ROFL!

Tales to Astonish #77: With Namor seeing the drill into the ocean floor, I was surprised his assumption was “peaceful scientific exploration.” I immediately assumed “oil rig”. So I just looked it up, and variations of offshore oil rigs began in the early 1900s, and probably would be in full swing by the 60s. Now THAT would have justified a full-on Imperius Rex smash fest, but not having the Pyms on board. (They’re back in Astonish! YAY!) I just wonder if they “watered down” the story on purpose, or maybe an environmental angle wasn’t a thing yet.
Hulk vs Executioner was fun, but I was struggling to see Exey hold his own against Hulk. Your theory that he has powers of the other Asgardians really appeals to me! I’d love to know if that’s the case, and have more questions answered about this future, but I don’t think I want more stories because it’s not great, just generic dystopian world. Ugh.
Where did you guys come up with that “Banner learns his future self rules the world and is horrible, and has trophies of superheroes” thing? Who would come up with such an Imperfect Future??!

Don’t think too hard about my signoff bits. I started collecting Amazing Spider-Man and Avengers in their early #200s. So you won’t get to them real soon. But I’m sure you’ll get to them.

Until next time, or until the X-Men and Magneto live in the mansion together, make mine Make Ours Marvel.
