Strange Tales #138: I’m trying to figure out if any characters are appearing in 2 or more comics per month, not counting The Avengers. I think the only ones are Fury, Dum-dum, and Gabe. Wow!
Fury’s bullet-proof suit is dang helpful. And it’s also helpful that HYDRA agents shoot straight at the suit instead of aiming 2 inches higher at Fury’s uncovered face, even from 1 foot away. Wow.
Dr Strange: Eternity, “I will say no more.” Strange starts to walk away and “Wait, I actually had another thing to say. There, now I will say no more.” Strange stands, awkwardly, do I leave now, or is the E-guy gonna think of something else? But yes, one of Ditko’s most memorable character designs. Awesome!
Tales of Suspense #71: Iron beats Titanium! That was a pretty great fight, and the tension after was real! But I noticed from episode 100’s coverage, in that mini-series, the NSA guy couldn’t stand Iron Man and preferred Stark, while here we have a Senator who likes Irons Man and snarks Stark.
Cap’s big finish in WW2. Well, maybe just finish. It has been fun to see this series experiment with different approaches, but I’m hoping the present-day stories will be more consistently fun from this point on.
Fun show as always, guys. Until next time, or until Titanium Man embraces capitalism with a scheme to turn him and his henchmen into credit cards, make mine Make Ours Marvel.
