This version of Beetle was actually my first, which is pretty wild because it was well before I started collecting. Maybe my school had the Spidey Super Stories issue with him as the villain. If so, I think I’d remember better because it also features Ms Marvel. Wow!
I have no idea how many times I’ve thought, “I wonder if Doctor Strange ever fought Loki.” Not knowing it happened back in 1964? It’s amazing to me how many of these ideas the Marvel gang did so early! This may sway me to read some Strange Tales after all.
Boy, that FF story was a whole lotta “huh?” And the ending is the biggest head scratcher, but I finally get it. Uatu could have sent the FF home when he first finds them in his house, but he thought “Maybe they’ll just behave themselves, it’s ok if they watch my TV and snack from the fridge. But no, they start another fight with a bunch of monkeys, getting hair all over my stuff. That’s it, you’re outta here! Oh, better not let on I’m annoyed cuz I do not need their drama. UM, YEAH, YOU FF PEOPLE IS SO IMPORTANT AND THINGS. There, now I’ll kick them back to cruddy part of town so they have to walk the rest of the way. Maybe they’ll TAKE THE HINT next time.” Uatu the passive-aggressive Watcher.
Who doesn’t want Kraven’s specialized tusks utility belt? Krave-rangs! Krave-lock-picks! Krave-shark-repellant! Krave-mini-costumes-that-expand-in-water! (My favorite.)
Thanks for more laughs! Until the Watcher kicks Wolverine out of his house for tracking moon dust in, make mine Make Ours Marvel.
