Really sorry I wasn’t getting this podcast from the beginning. What a crazy ride in those early Marvel comics! This was no exception. Hulk wearing a Hulk mask?? Not-Skrulls not-taking-over-the-earth?? The mind boggles!
It was interesting to hear the first appearance of Rick’s Teen Brigade. I read those original Avengers stories for the first time last year, and they were all over those stories. But what was underwhelming is I never once heard any of their names. We didn’t see them as individuals. Just “Rick and the boys” getting in trouble or saving the day. Where were the kooky nicknames? The hokey lingo? The insensitive accents? All hallmarks of groups like this. (Howling Commandos, Newsboy Legion, et al) Maybe your research will correct that. Fingers crossed.
Thank you gentlemen for an entertaining podcast. MMMS salute!
Journey Into Mystery #90- Here we go. Jerk Odin!
“Kirby would have designed something more interesting”. He did. Skrulls.
These aliens are the perfect product of generations of inbreeding.
Also, thanks for the tip about not putting liquid dish soap in the dishwasher. Just in time!!
Hulk #6- One of you asked why they had a Hulk mask. Well you spend hours and hours locked in a cave and see how bored you get!
